Mustaches (moustaches) have been worn in various styles throughout history. Never before though, has a mustache been featured more prominently in polka musical than on the face of The Chardon Polka Band’s bold tubaist, Mr. Brian Brazier.
Brian Brazier has been making “no holds barred” polka for over a decade. With his curled mustache and bombastic style of performing, he is not an easy guy to miss. Brian’s dynamic stage presence is matched with musical experience and expertise. Whether studying musical form in the classroom or performing for crowds at South By Southwest, Brian Brazier is a multifaceted musician with a clear passion for what he does.
After studying music at the University of Arizona, Brian worked in San Diego, California teaching high school marching band. Sometime later, Brian would put his expertise to work creating The Bolzen Beer Band in Lincoln, Nebraska. What started out as a group of buskers at football tailgates turned into a premiere polka band playing shows all over the United States and Europe. Bolzen Beer Band was the first American band to play Gillamoos, a 700 year old event which is also the third largest in Volksfest Germany!
After performing as an auxiliary member for The Chardon Polka Band and on several of their recordings, Brian joined the band full-time in June 2021. Audiences delight in the electricity and palatable excitement that Brazier brings to the CPB stage and to the genre of polka. They also love his majestic mustache.
